This was a comprehensive senior design project complete in the spring quarter 2007 by Zafar Inam (Project Manager), Nick Borrayo, Nirav Patel, Nhi Tran, Lisandro Gomez, and Matt Maltby. The team was required to design a walkway an realign a service road to provide beach access for a redevelopment project in Laguna Nigel, California. The project was subject to environmental and esthetic restrictions imposed by the California Coastal Commission and had to meet the Americans with Disabilities (ADA) standards.

The team choose to use a mechanical stabilized earth method to provide the reinforcement required to keep the slope stable and create the alignment needed for the road and walkway.
